Anxiety. Uncertainty. Revenge. Consequences.

As fear breeds across this country and around the world we are faced to deal with this dilemma alone. And the personal decisions we make have real and possibly dangerous consequences. Living in Hoboken, New Jersey, Caryl and I make these uncomfortable decisions every day in commuting to New York City. Will the bus be safe, the Lincoln Tunnel, or should we take the ferry - but the water is icy cold? What about the Path underground tunnel? It's a game of daily Russian roulette.

I took great care deciding the correct image to explore this new phenomenon in our daily lives. At first it had to appear disarming and innocent, then become sinister and leave the final consequence of the action in the painting to be left to the observer.

The original image that this painting was created was taken by my wife, Caryl and was not staged. Just a happy accident?
